El teleférico de regreso desde l’Aiguille du Midi lo tomamos sólo hasta el punto intermedio, el Plan de l’Aiguille, situado a 2317 metros de altitud.Nosotros nos disponemos a realizar la ruta conocida como Grand Balcon Nord, que nos lleva desde Plan de l’Aiguille a la estación de tren de Montenvers, situada junto al glaciar más grande de Francia: la Mer de Glace (mar de hielo).Nos detenemos constantemente a tomar fotografías, puesto que el paisaje es increíble.

El camino vira ligeramente a la derecha, en ascenso, para llegar por fin a la Signal de Forbes (2198 metros de altitud) cuando llevamos poco más de 5 kilómetros de ruta (1 hora y 50 minutos).Decidimos reemprender la marcha, que ahora ya continúa en franco descenso hasta la pequeña estación de tren de Montenvers (situada a 1913 metros de altitud), a la cual llegamos tras algo más de 2 horas y 40 minutos de marcha, contando paradas.Hay demasiadas cosas ahí fuera como para quedarse sentado. It seems the Sud hike has a greater variety of scenery (with more green and flowers in the foreground but still great views of Mount Blanc), but I'm not sure. For anyone who is tight on time or doesn't enjoy an uphill hike, a train to Montenvers departs from the valley every 30 minutes.
